hello little bros :D

classes start tomorrow. and let me share with you one awesome trick (unless, if you guys have already figured this out, let's just pretend that i'm writing this for the new students that are coming over next year) in taming the morse-code-like codes used in your personal timetable. (yea i figured this post is not exactly the most helpful trick for first day of classes, like, classes start, actually today?). to avoid getting lost in the jungle (it's the peak season, all baboons are out pumping up the traffic), check the faculty building code name and find the building by doing some googling the night before you go to school.

now kids, for example, if it says JHE 320. According to this page, JHE stands for John Hodgins Engineering building, which you all have probably already known now (got owned by math test prank, didn't you? hahaaaaa). The room number tells you everything. look at the first number, that tells you the level or which floor the room is situated on. so in this case, room JHE 320 can be found on the third floor. If you have B in front of the number, that tells you that the room is in the basement of the building.

another example, BSB B116. Burke Science Building room 116, in the basement. there you have it. or if you still couldn't find your way there, just ask around. people here are really friendly and helpful.

Advice for Engineering 1

Things that took me 2 years to learn :) Semoga bermanfaat, insyaAllah.

1. Go to all classes. It is important that you do not fall back on class material.

2. Keep your notes neat and organized. It will be useful as a study material for midterms and exams, which definitely beats cramming the text days before a midterm.

3. Study consistently. Do it in small amounts every day, for short periods of time. In between tasks is ideal.

4. Talk to classmates about class material, just so that you can gauge the level of understanding expected of you. Not ideal, but it keeps the stress of placing unrealistic expectations on yourself under control. But if you find that your grasp of the material is better than your classmates, then by all means continue what you have been doing and keep working to improve. In the end the best standard to measure you against is yourself.

5. Start on assignments early. It will not be easy, but the easier you start thinking about it, the more time your brain has to work through it and the better your solutions will be once deadline arrives.

6. Study by yourself, but work in groups. Discussing material with classmates while doing assignments is a really good way to study, but you have to make sure that you know your material so as to not keep everyone else back.

7. Do homework. Practice, practice, practice is key.

8. Professors and TA’s are there to help, so utilize it.

9. Try to enjoy studying. Remember that this degree is going to pay off and enable you to do a lot of things in the future.

10. Don’t stress! There are a LOT of other people going through the same thing, so you are not the only one facing the huge amount of workload.

Kesian Apan….

Pagi tadi di opis, dalam pukul 9, sedang gua kaver line klik fesbuk sikit sikit, Apan mundar mandir belakang gua dengan muka kusut masai. Dari tadi gua tengok Apan hilang punca di sekitar sektor operasi. Muka macam ada masalah. "Lu kenapa ni Apan?" - Gua tanya demi meminta kepastian.

Gua dengan Apan ni kira ngam juga la. Budak Kedah, umur muda sikit dari gua dan tak berapa hensem. Kalau tatap muka dia lama lama boleh naik menyampah juga.Dia baru setahun kerja dengan kompeni gua. Sebelum masuk sini, Apan banyak hendel bisnes sendiri dan selalu rugi.

"Mak gua hilang la.." - Apan berbisik perlahan. Gua punyala terperanjat! "Mak lu hilang?, bila hilang?" - dada gua tiba tiba mengepam keluar masuk laju laju. Berdebar tak payah cakap la, kencang macam kuda. "Petang semalam..dah cari merata tak jumpa". Apan berlalu meninggalkan gua menuju ke bahagian budak budak human resource.

Gua tak tahu apa benda yang dia sedang fikir dalam kepala. Gua nak tanya lebih lebih risau kena pukul pula.Apa yang gua tahu sikit sikit, mak dia memang duduk rumah tak kerja, ayah dia kerja penolong kanan lagi dua tiga tahun nak pencen.

**** Kira kira lima belas minit kemudian, dari jauh gua nampak Apan berjalan semula masuk ke sektor operasi. Kali ni muka dia tak kusut macam tadi dah, sebaliknya ceria macam muka Lan kumpulan the typewriter.

"Mak gua dah jumpa.." - kelegaan jelas terpampang di bibir Apan. Gua cepat cepat bersyukur:

"Alhamdulillah. ..Jumpa kat mana?",

Dan dengan penuh keceriaan, jujur, ikhlas, tawadduk serta wajah disinari warna warni rama rama yang tiada belas kasihan pada gua, Apan membalas padu: "Dalam sinki penteri." Gua terus tendang kompiter sampai bersepah atas lantai.

"Bxxi!" MUG la Apan..MUG..!!, pronunciation macam jahxxxm! Sia sia gua berdebar. Pagi pagi sudah bikin hati membara.

Just so you guys know, there is a designated prayer space for Muslims in Thode basement. Go right to the very end of the bookshelves and you'll find it. It's hard to miss. Ada sejadah, kiblat dengan solat berjemaah kadang2.

Figured everybody spends so much time in libraries, it's easier to pray in Thode then go home/MSA office/hospital.

Ingin tahu bagaimana caranya membuat sup pandai? Mudah sahaja. Pertama, ambil semua nota2 yang anda salin dalam kelas. Kedua, lipat nota2 tersebut secara memanjang kepada beberapa bahagian yang bersaiz 0.17cm lebar (sekiranya mengalami masalah untuk memahami prosedur ini, sila baca ini: garis lipatan kertas nota haruslah selari dengan tepi kertas yang panjang - adeh kalau tak faham juge, the folded side has to be parallel to the longer side of the paper). pastikan lebar setiap lipatan adalah 0.17cm, kalau tak sup ini akan hilang keberkesanannya. ketiga, koyakkan bahagian2 lipatan tadi mengikut garis lipatan. keempat, masokkan dalam periuk yang airnye sedang mendidih. kelima, taburkan sedikit garam, gula dan lada. keenam, setelah dibiarkan reneh selama setengah jam, tapis cebisan kertas tadi dan ambil air nya sahaja. ketujuh, sile la minum kalau ada berannnnnnnn.

anyway, good luck everyone for the final exams. bile mengulang kaji pelajaran, ingatlah kita study ni kerana apa? sume orang tau jawapannya, bukan gitu? so jangan terlalu stressed out, kalau x faham boleh tanya prof atau TA atau kalau segan, kita ada barisan senior2 yang pandai kaw2 seperti pejal. so takkan dgn senior pun nak malu. haaa... maka dengan itu, betolkan niat, study elok2, jangan putus asa, jangan sesekali ye. usaha itu elevator kejayaan rakan2 sekalian.

What is life?

Life is something to appreciate. No matter which path we are walking on, it will definitely lead us somewhere. Different paths promise different challenges. Sometimes, we would be complaining about the complacency that we had in life, the difficulties that we faced and also the hardships that we have to go through.

Nevertheless, Allah created all these things to make us no other than to think and to realize that life is not always as we expected it to be. We wont always get our desires fulfilled, our targets achieved, but that is life.

We have to make crucial decisions at some points and be responsible for what we had chosen afterward. When we are in difficult situations, think about something good that we had in the past. Life is beautiful.

In overall, our Usrah went well though started a bit late due to some unavoidable problems.

Aktiviti : Outdoor dan Indoor, pengisian ilmiah serta aktiviti fizikal dalam hutan.

Objektif:
